I was recently listening to a sermon by an Orthodox priest. He was commenting on how difficult it is for people to get along with each other. What struck me, and really got me thinking, was his comment that the vast majority of us really don’t even like ourselves. There is a lot of truth to that statement, but what if it didn’t have to be that way?
If we truly work every day to become better men than we were the day before, we will very quickly start to become the men that we want to be. We will become that image of who we want to be, and we will start to like it! Now, of course we live in a broken world and we will never reach perfection in any endeaver, but to a man that doesn’t matter.
If you don’t know who you want to be, find out. Find masculine role models, many of whom will probably be dead, read about them, find out everything you can about them and start to emulate them. Increase your masculine education every day, study, read, visualize, be.
